Podcast Episode Planning: Build a Run of Show Listeners Follow

A strong outline keeps the conversation moving without forcing the host to read a script.
Lead with a reason to listen
Open with the problem, question or story the episode resolves. Avoid a long administrative introduction. Give listeners a clear sense of what they will understand or be able to do by the end.
Make every segment earn its place
Organize the episode into three or four sections. Each should answer a different question and connect naturally to the next. For interviews, prepare follow-ups and examples rather than a long list of unrelated questions. Keep your strongest story away from an extended preamble.
Close the loop
Return to the opening promise in the conclusion. Summarize the practical takeaway and give one clear next action. If the next episode continues the topic, explain what remains to be explored without turning the ending into a sales pitch.
Your next step
Use the PodcastClick episode planner to sketch a title, listener outcome and three segment ideas. Read the outline aloud; if transitions feel awkward, revise them before recording.
